Chamomile Cleansing Milk

This is an old-fashioned beauty treatment with benefits that modern science can back up. Milk contains lactic acid, one of the alpha hydroxy acids that help to reduce the signs of aging. Chamomile contains antioxidant compounds that soothes skin, especially in those prone to rosacea and eczema.

Ingredients

¼ cup whole milk

¼ cup heavy cream

2 heaping tablespoons dried chamomile flowers

Directions

Place all ingredients in the top of a double boiler. Gently heat the milk mixture to a simmer. Continue to simmer the mixture, stirring often, for 20 to 30 minutes. Do not allow the mixture to boil or it will curdle. Remove from heat; cover and let steep for 2 hours. Strain; discard the chamomile and transfer the reserved liquid into a clean bottle. To use, apply to a freshly washed face with a cotton pad.
