Making Herbal Wreaths

In summer, it's a simple task to make a fresh or "living" herbal wreath by gathering bunches of newly harvested plants or by directly sowing seed into a prepared form from which herbs can sprout. In winter, when the earth is in slumber, we can look to dried flowers, roots, berries and seeds to inspire us, like those used in this rustic kitchen wreath made by our friends at Mountain Rose Herbs. All you need is a wreath form (craft and hobby shop), an assortment of botanical materials, floral wire, mini glue gun, scissors and finishing touches like buttons, twigs, pine cones, homespun ribbon or raffia.
