Frankincense & Myrrh Body Mousse

Most people don't think beyond the fragrance value of frankincense and myrrh when it comes to cosmetics, but these two botanicals actually have a lot to offer. Frankincense has anti-inflammatory and astringent properties that can help to reduce joint and sore muscle pain as well as signs of aging. Myrrh is antifungal, antibacterial and stimulates circulation.

Ingredients

1/4 cup organic olive oil

1/4 cup organic coconut oil

1/4 cup bees wax

1/4 cup shea butter

2 tablespoons vitamin E

20 drops frankincense essential oil

20 drops myrrh essential oil

Directions

In the top of a double boiler, gently heat olive oil, coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter until completely melted. Place the mixture in the refrigerator until solid, about an hour. Using a mixer, beat on low speed until fluffy. Add vitamin E and essential oils and mix again. Transfer the finished product into clean containers and label. Store in a cool, dark place.
