Rose & Vanilla Lotion

This formula calls for rose water, which you can easily make yourself or obtain from just about any pharmacy. The use of palmarosa essential oil makes the formula a bit more economical without sacrificing a rose-like, floral quality.

Ingredients

¾ cup sweet almond oil

1 cup rose water (recipe)

2 tablespoons grated beeswax (or use pastilles)

30 drops organic palmarosa essential oil

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions

Combine the sweet almond oil and beeswax in the top of a double boiler and gently heat until beeswax is completely melted. Pour the rose water into a blender, secure the lid and turn on high. Slowly pour the oil mixture into the blender through the access hole in the lid. The formula will begin to thicken by the time you’re finished adding all the oil. With the blender still running, add the essential oil and vanilla extract and process another 30 seconds. Transfer the lotion into clean glass jars and label. Store in a cool, dark place and use within 6 months.
