Orange & Mango Whipped Body Butter

Mango butter is obtained by pressing the seed kernels of the tropical mango tree. Because this substance is high in stearic acid and other fatty acids, it has excellent moisturizing properties and is used to make soap and other cosmetics. Combined here with sweet orange essential oil and whipped into a luxurious, creamy consistency, this body butter is refreshing to the senses and soothing to skin. Ingredients 1/2 cup organic mango butter 1/2 cup of organic cocoa butter 1/2 cup organic coconut oil 1/2 cup of jojoba oil 20 drops organic sweet orange oil 2 teaspoons non-GMO vitamin E Directions Place the butters and oils (note that coconut oil is solid at room temperature) in the top of a double boiler. Gently heat over low heat to melt, stirring often. Add the essential oil and vitamin E and stir to blend. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. Place in the refrigerator for one hour, uncovered, or until the mixture begins to set but is still fairly soft. You can speed up this process by placing the mixture in an ice bath, or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a good book while the stuff refrigerates. Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture on low speed for a minute and then gradually increase to medium-high speed and mix until fluffy peaks start to form. Refrigerate again for 15 to 20 minutes to finish setting up. Transfer into a clean jar with a tight-fitting lid, label and store in a cool (that's cool), dark place. If you don't substitute any of the oils in this recipe or skimp on the vitamin E, this body butter will keep for 9 months to a year. If it gets mushy from warm temperatures, just repeat the cold treatment and whipping procedure to fluff it up again.
