For this spell, you will need a candle, some Cleopatra or other spicy oil, some dried rosemary, basil, and lavender, and a cherry pie. The candle and oil represent closeness, love, and friendship. The herbs facilitate communication. (The pie is for dessert!) Anoint the candle with the oil. Place it on a plate, and sprinkle a bit of each dried herbs around it. Anoint yourself as well, if you wish, and place the pie on the altar in front of the candle. Light the candle, and say:

Family of mine,
Loved ones divine,
Speak and be heard,
Truthful of word,
Respectful of each other.
Bring us together
friends and loved ones forever!

Get the kids involved with the spell, they may enjoy chanting the rhyme. Have the pie after dinner. Let people play with their food just this once. Expect happy chatter and honesty in communication tonight. Repeat this spell whenever awkward silences threaten to come between family members or when misunderstandings occur.
