The Magickal Properties of
Clear Quartz
|
|
Clear quartz is associated with enhancing psychic abilities, spiritual communication and to promote healing. This is because the gemstone is a natural conductor of energy, which is why it used to power your watch and electrical equipment. Crystal balls are made from quartz because the material serves as a window into other dimensions, granting the viewer clear vision to determine the cause of an illness, learn of potential solutions to current obstacles and to receive other information. read

The Magickal Properties of Amethyst
|
|
|
The
pink to deep violet color seen in amethyst is due to the presence of
iron. The
Chevron amethyst displays the deepest hues of purple. Because purple is
associated with the sixth chakra -- the "third eye"
located between the brows with which we receive intuition -- the stone
is said to enhance peace of mind, relaxation and self-discovery. This is
an excellent stone for shamanic journeying and for inner-self evaluation
and evolution. The
stone lessens any resistance to helping oneself, particularly as
concerns self-awareness. It also diminishes addictive tendencies. read

Sacred Fire
by Ellen Evert Hopman

The Goddess in the Sun
Modern Paganism is heavily influenced by Greek and Roman mythology, and as a result certain assumptions are made, such as the idea that the Sun is male and the Moon female. A careful study of indigenous traditions will reveal that this wasn’t true for many—or possibly most—cultures on planet Earth. In Egypt, the Sun was within the eye of the great lion Goddess Sekhmet or within the cow Goddess Hathor at night and reborn from the womb of Hathor each morning. The Egyptians also associated the Sun with Bastet or Bast—Lady of Flame, Eye of Ra, divine protectress of the pharaoh, whose sacred animal was the house cat.

Bringing the Major Arcana Down to Earth: Discover Your Best Workout Through the Cards
by Barbara Moore
Most tarot readers consider the Major Arcana cards to be doorways to powerful archetypal energy, life lessons, important life changes, and events beyond our control. Like her colleagues, Tarot expert Barbara Moore accepts this view, but she also worries that by imbuing the Major cards with such importance, they may become too heady, too for removed from us, too unapproachable. Discover a technique to reunite the Major Arcana with our physical existence—and maybe discover your ideal healthy activities, as suggested by the cards, along the way. read this article

Discover the Ancient Secrets of the Freemasons
by Jean-Louis de Biasi
It is true that Freemasonry is a powerful and useful philanthropic fraternity. The local Masonic Lodges, as well as the Scottish Rite Lodges and the Shriners, work hard to provide charitable help to communities in many important areas: orthopedics, education, etc. They help those who cannot afford critical surgeries and treatments. The aid they provide to the poor and to children in need is essential work that really helps our communities. Yet Freemasonry claims to accomplish something more. They assert the existence of a spiritual secret, some kind of mysterious esoteric process that allows the apprentice to get in touch with his own spiritual self. This quest of the soul, the search for the "inner divine," begins during the initiation process and continues during the rituals that are practiced regularly in Masonic lodges.

Eye Blink Procedure for Astral Projection
by Llewellyn
The astral projection strategy called Eye Blink Procedure utilizes eye blinks and innovative orientation techniques designed to induce the out-of-body state and facilitate travel to either physical or non-physical destinations. The procedure, which is based on the research of Gene Chamberlain of the Parapsychology Research Foundation and tested in [their] labs, incorporates remote viewing as a practice exercise into a procedure designed to induce astral projection. Astral projection and remote viewing are similar in that they both provide information concerning spatially distant realities. They are different, however, in that astral projection, unlike remote viewing, incorporates disengagement of the astral body from the physical and usually includes a much wider range of experiences. Once you have developed your remote viewing abilities, astral projection is much easier to master.
It is important to read the entire procedure before starting. The steps are well defined and easy to follow. Here’s the procedure.

When Angels Whisper...
by Chantel Lysette
Nearly a decade ago when Archangel Raphael in the guise of a persistent muse suggested I write a book on spirituality, I sardonically teased, “You wanna narrow down the subject a bit?” A few years later, he commissioned that I write a book on angels. I scoffed at the idea and mumbled, “The world already thinks it knows all there is to know about angels. Why repeat information that’s been handed down through the ages?”
I didn’t give the muse a chance to respond. I simply rolled over in bed and went to sleep.

The Festival of Imbolc
by Ellen Evert Hopman
As a Celtic Reconstructionist Druid I am always interested in the practices of the ancient Celts. I read about them, write about them and then put them into practice, as best I can. It’s my own small effort to keep the traditions alive and to pass them along for future generations.
The Festival of Imbolc is the next great Fire Festival in the cycle of the Celtic year. It is essentially a milk festival in honor of the lactation of the ewes who under natural conditions don’t give milk until just before they give birth. It is generally celebrated around February 1, but I have discovered that here in New England the sheep lactate about February 15.

Face Challenges Through Frequency Awareness
by Melissa Alvarez
Frequency is your personal vibratory rate, the way your energy moves within you. It can affect your moods, making you have a good or bad day. Choose to become more aware of your frequency because, through awareness, you are able to pay attention to the nuances in your frequency, sense its highs and lows, and take appropriate actions to keep it elevated so that you remain positive and focused.
Becoming aware of your frequency is as simple as noticing your moods and as complicated as examining it through in-depth study. While both methods have their place, I tend to lean toward fast, simple, and effective techniques that I can do on the go. Here’s an example... read this article

Precision in Magick
by Donald Michael Kraig
When people start off with magick they usually begin with general externals and specific internals.
By this I mean they begin with the externals of the ritual being rather generalized—everything colored red for added energy, for example—along with a specific intention such as bringing yourself more energy to “pull an all-nighter” studying for a test. For some people general externals and specific internals are effective enough and are all they will ever need or use.
However some people, including myself, want to use externals that are more specific. The idea behind this is that the more specific everything is, the more the magick is focused and directed toward your goal.

Building Empathy in These Tough Times
by Kerri Connor
When I first came up with the idea of writing the book Spells for Tough Times, I did so because I knew people out there needed help. They may need help with their finances, they may need help with their families, they may need help with their health; whatever the topic, there are people in this world in need, and it seems we often tend to forget about them.
In our society, especially for those in United States, we aren't supposed to have problems. We hide our problems from our family and friends, and oftentimes even from our self—hoping that if we ignore them they will just go away. Unfortunately, they usually don't go away, and often grow when ignored.

Another way to look at this is as "good magical hygiene;" here Tess provides ways to keep our energy clear, focused, positive, and powerful throughout the day.

Put Purpose into Raising Your Frequency
By Melissa Alvarez
There is a correlation between your frequency, the spiritual energy of your personal vibration, and the positive or negative things happening in your life. A higher inner frequency results in more positivity in life, while lower frequencies result in stressful, negative situations. How can we raise our frequencies to attract more positivity into our lives? Can we give ourselves a purpose, to attract certain things in our lives? Melissa Alvarez, author of 365 Ways to Raise Your Frequency, explains. read this article

Sex Magic for Beginners
By Skye Alexander
Most of us want to lead better lives. We want to be happier, healthier, wealthier, and so on. We’d like to take control of what happens to us, instead of being at the mercy of chance, fate, or the agendas of other people. That’s why most magicians do spells in the first place, and sex magic is an especially effective way to accomplish your objectives. Skye Alexander, author of Sex Magic for Beginners, discusses just exactly what sex magic is and how to begin using this potent form of magic.

A Light in the Darkness: The Light Personal Names Shed on Ancient Paganism
By K.M. Sheard
Names. We all have them. They are so integral to our society that few people ever pause to reflect on their cultural significance and what they reveal about our way of life. But even today, naming practices vary considerably across the world. And the naming practices of our ancestors were equally diverse. And, what’s more, they offer us a unique window through which to glimpse their lives, how they lived, and what they believed. What do the names of our Pagan predecessors reveal about their way of lif? K.M. Sheard, author of Llewellyn's Complete Book of Names, explains.
